Tip 24: congenital toxoplasmosis

Severity of infection is worst in the first trimester with intracranial calcification and ventriculomegaly being poor prognostic signs. Mostly though, prognosis is good, especially with antiparasitic treatment following fetal diagnosis on amniocentesis.
