Tip 51: intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH)

IVH originates from the subependymal germinal matrix, a highly vascular structure of delicate capillaries.  Around 50% occur with the first 24 hours of life, especially if unstable after birth, with less than 5% occurring after day 5.
