- A full examination within 72 hours of birth, including plotting head circumfrence and weight
- Newborn blood spot aged 5 – 8 days old
- Examaination aged 6 – 8 weeks including social smiling and visual fixation
- Hearing screening before discharge or by week 4 – 5.
