Tip 100: NEOPAIN study 2

Among neonates who did not receive any open-label morphine, severe IVH (p=0·02) occurred more frequently in the morphine group than in the placebo group.

However, intermittent boluses of morphine in the placebo group were associated with an even greater frequency of severe IVH, PVL and death (p=<0·0001).
