Tip 156: developmental care

Developmental care relates to a broad category of interventions designed to minimise the stress of neonatal intensive care on the preterm infant’s development. Individual approaches, such as kangaroo care, as well as combination approaches, are effective in reducing length of hospitalisation and hospital costs.
